Whether it’s a job interview or a conversation with a mentor, you are likely to have an important zoom video call coming up in which it’s important that you make a great first impression. Good news, we are going to help you prepare! During this workshop you will get to practice what to say, how to say it, and how to set up your space for a professional look and sound. Plan to attend using a webcam, ready to unmute. We will be breaking up into small groups, so you will have an opportunity to practice and gain insights into how to be ready when your next big call comes.

More about our presenter:

Jose Alvarez is a first-generation and two-time college graduate from the University of Florida. Jose received his B.S. in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences with a minor in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership AND he also received his M.S. in Leadership Development. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he joined the AmeriCorps family. Throughout his AmeriCorps journey, Jose had the privilege of serving youth who would one day be in his shoes. He worked with the University to assist first-generation low-income students pursue a higher education. His work as a mentor, advocate, and program coordinator helped him find his passion for education equity and juvenile justice reform. Jose has served on numerous state and local boards to continue being a voice for the next generation of leaders. Today, he is the co-founder and Vice President of Noble Sheep, a Leadership development agency that works with young leaders to help them do their best work, with the best people, for the best outcomes.
