It has been a few years since I met Yolanda at a National Service Regional Training. At the time she was working at the Maryland Commission. Since then, I’ve stayed connected with Yolanda through attending her Learning and Development Chats, and by listening to her podcast, the L&D Lounge. Yolanda is also very active on LinkedIn and engages in conversation about learning and development as well as how we think about meaningful work.

Yolanda and I have several things in common. We both spent decades in the Washington DC Metro area, we both served in AmeriCorps early in our careers and it was very influential for us, and we both studied at George Mason University. We are also both theatre nerds and bring our theatrical side into our virtual speaking engagements. Yolanda has great energy on camera and really connects with her learners, even when she can’t see their reactions.

I’m excited to bring Yolanda’s perspective and skills to the Life After AmeriCorps Workshop Series for our April workshop on April 23rd, Making a Great First Virtual Impression while Showing Up Authentically.
